LILDBI-WEB readme auxiliary databases

Update package:

upd-bvslilacs-common.tgz

This file updates the following auxiliary databases of LILDBI-Web:

1. CENTERS: database containing the codes of the LILACS network cooperating centers
2. TITLE:   database of LILACS periodical titles

To check which files will be updated, execute the following command:

tar tvf upd-bvslilacs-common.tgz

To install the update, follow the steps below:

  • De-activate the LILDBI-Web as administrator and warn the users that an update will be made
  • In the directory immediately before the system databases, execute:
tar tvfzp upd-bvslilacs-common.tgz
  • Re-activate the LILDBI-Web.

Example:

  • Structure of the directories where LILDBI-Web was installed:
  /home/mylilacs/
		|--- /htdocs
		|--- /cgi-bin
		|--- /bases
  • directory where it will be decompressed: /home/mylilacs
  • access LILDBI-Web as administrator, de-activate the system and then log off (Exit option).
  • make certain that no one is using LILDBI-Web.
  • execute the command tar to decompress the file:
tar xvfzp upd-bvslilacs-common.tgz
  • the structure shown below reproduces the names of the directories whose contents will substituted with the decompression in the database area:
  /home/mylilacs/bases/
                      |--- /lildbi
                      |--- /comum
 	              |--- /centros
	              |--- /title
	              |--- /country
  • access LILDBI-Web as administrator, activate the system and perform a test to verify that the updates were made.

Windows

Update package:

upd-bvslilacs-common.zip

This file updates the following auxiliary LILDBI-WEB databases:

1. CENTERS: database containing the codes of the LILACS network cooperating centers
2. TITLE:   database of LILACS periodical titles

To check which files will be updated, open the file:

upd-bvslilacs-common.zip

To install the update, follow the steps below:

  • de-activate LILDBI-WEB as administrator and warn users that an update will be made.
  • Open the file below with WinZip or PKUnzip and decompress it in the directory immediately before that of the databases of the system:
  \descompress in this directory\
                       |___\htdocs
                       |___\cgi-bin
                       |___\bases

NOTE: use the option “Use folder names”

  • Re-activate LILDBI-WEB.

Example:

  • Structure of the directories where LILDBI-WEB was installed:
  \bvs\
      |___\htdocs
      |___\cgi-bin
      |___\bases
  • directory where it will be decompressed and updated: \bvs
  • access LILDBI-WEB as administrator, de-activate the system and then log off (Exit option).
  • make certain that no one is using LILDBI-WEB.
  • decompress the file with WinZip or PKUnzip, confirming the substitution of the files. NOTE that if Winzip does not ask to overwrite or not, you are most probably decompressing in the wrong directory.
  • the structure shown below reproduces the names of the directories whose contents will be substituted with the decompression in the database area:
  \bvs\bases\
            |___\lildbi
            |___\comum
            |___\centros
            |___\title
  • access LILDBI-Web as administrator, activate the system and perform a test to verify that the updates were installed.
