From May 2nd to 4th, 2013, Adalberto Tardelli, Director of BIREME/PAHO/WHO attended the 58th Annual CHRC/CARPHA Scientific Conference in Barbados and Marcia Barretto, BIREME’s technological infrastructure coordinator and Verônica Abdala, manager of cooperative information services and production of information sources will be in Bridgetown, Barbados, from May 6th to 10th to provide the course Training for trainers – MEDCARIB initiative.
Among the activities planned is the participation of Adalberto at the Caribbean Health Research Council (CHRC) with the agencies Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), Caribbean Health Research Council (CHRC) and Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM), with a presentation on the Virtual Health Library (VHL) importance for decision making and with a proposal to create a sub-regional VHL for Caribbean countries.
Veronica and Marcia will minister course for librarians on the VHL methodologies at PAHO office in Christ Church, Barbados, with the participation of representatives of Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Belize, Jamaica and Guyana.
